Woodcock Visuals

Visual strategist · Film and digital marketing

Films that look right, and a strategy that gets them seen.

Woodcock Visuals pairs a filmmaker's eye with a digital marketer's plan. I shoot and edit the work, then decide where it goes, who it is for and how we will know it is working.

Example brief

Two skills

The person who films it is the person who plans it.

Most video work ends when the file is delivered. Here the plan comes first, and the film is made to do a job.

The filmmaker

Visual storytelling that holds attention

  • Direction and storyA treatment, script and shot list built around the one thing a viewer should remember.
  • Camera and lightingProper light, clean sound and composed frames, on location or on a controlled set.
  • Edit, sound and colourTight pacing, clear audio and a consistent look across every piece.
  • Platform-ready cutdownsVertical versions shaped for each platform, not just cropped.

The digital marketer

Strategy that puts the work in front of the right people

  • Audience and search researchWhat your audience asks, searches and watches, found before a frame is shot.
  • Channel planWhere each film lives: your site, YouTube, search, social and email.
  • Publishing and optimisationTitles, descriptions, captions and page placement that help the work get found.
  • MeasurementA monthly report on what was published and how it performed, used to plan the next batch.

About

One person who can make it and plan it.

I trained as a filmmaker, and I am now completing an MSc in Digital Marketing. I work across both because the work needs both.

Brands often split the job. A production company makes the film, and a marketing team decides what to do with it. Each side can end up working from a brief written by the other, and things get lost between them: the film is not built for the platform it lands on, and the plan does not reflect what the camera can do.

Working across both means the story, the shot list, the edit and the publishing plan come from the same head. I decide where a film will live before I shoot it, and I measure it after it goes out, so the next one is better.

At a glance

What that means for you

One brief, one point of contact

You explain the goal once. There are no hand-offs between a studio and an agency.

Films built for where they will run

Format, length and framing come from the plan, so nothing has to be fixed afterwards.

Results you can read

Every project ends with a report on what was published and how it performed.

The package

Start with the film, or take the whole thing.

Buy one skill or both. The more of the package you take, the more the film is built to perform.

Film

Make it

Brand video production and social media video production: story films, interviews and short-form cutdowns, with edit, sound and colour.

Best for a one-off launch, profile or event.

Film + strategy

Plan it and make it

Audience and search research, a content plan and a shot list, then the films. You finish with a plan you can keep running.

Best for a new channel or a rebrand.

The full package

Make it, plan it, run it

A regular shoot with video marketing built in: publishing, video SEO, testing and a monthly performance report.

Best for a steady stream of content that improves each month.

Priced per project or monthly. Tell me what you are trying to achieve and I will quote.

Method

Four steps, with the plan before the camera.

Every piece has a purpose, an audience and a place to live before it is shot.

1  BRIEF

Goals and audience

A short call to agree what the work must achieve, for whom, and within what limits.

2  PLAN

Research and shot list

Search and audience research, a content plan, and a list of where each piece will live.

3  SHOOT

Filmed and edited

Filmed to the plan, edited in batches and sent to you for approval before anything goes live.

4  PUBLISH

Live, then measured

Published on the right channels, then reported on so the next round is better informed.

Strategy in practice

Before I film, I look at what people already ask.

This example is for a clinic. The questions patients search for become the films, so every piece answers something real.

Dental implants

  • How much do dental implants cost?2,400
  • How long do dental implants last?1,600
  • Can you get dental implants on the NHS?1,000
  • Are dental implants painful?720

Hearing aids

  • How much are hearing aids?2,400
  • How do hearing aids work?1,600
  • Can hearing aids help tinnitus?1,000
  • How do you clean hearing aids?880

Figures are average monthly UK searches (Semrush, October 2026). Cost questions are filmed as "what affects the price", so clinicians can be accurate without quoting a figure.

Who it's for

People and businesses whose work needs explaining well.

Expert-led firms

Consultants, advisers and specialists: films that explain complex work and build authority.

Practices and clinics

Dental, hearing and care practices: team and treatment films that help people choose with confidence.

Independent brands

Founder, product and launch films, with a plan for where each one runs.

Local services

Trades and service businesses: films that show the work and the people behind it.

Filming in clinical and care settings is done with written consent from everyone on camera, and to the relevant advertising guidance.

Questions about the work

What clients ask first.

What does "full package" mean?

You get the film and the strategy around it: the research, the plan, the publishing and the reporting. You can buy the film alone, but the package is where the two skills work together.

Do I have to buy the strategy as well?

No. A film-only project is available. Most work does more when there is a plan behind it.

Do you guarantee results?

No. I control the films and the plan. Results also depend on your offer, your pricing and how enquiries are handled. You get a monthly report so you can see what the work is doing.

Do you film patients or customers?

Only with written consent, and only when it adds something. Many films need only your team.
